This summer concluded with a joint Central Asian study tour to Armenia, where a delegation of Tajikistan’s dried fruit processors engaged in knowledge exchange, business cooperation, and efforts to reinforce the sector’s competitiveness in regional and international markets.
The delegation included representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, relevant industry associations, government officials, and technical experts.
The visit was organized jointly by the International Trade Centre’s (ITC) Trade Promotion East (TPE) project, funded by the Government of Switzerland, and the UNDP Aid for Trade (AfT) project.
During the tour, the Tajik delegation visited leading Armenian dried fruit enterprises, held in-depth discussions with industry experts, and participated in structured networking sessions. They examined Armenia’s advanced processing technologies, innovative packaging solutions, quality management systems, and marketing strategies, while exploring opportunities for sustainable trade partnerships. The program also offered valuable insights into the structure of Armenia’s dried fruit supply chain, presenting successful models that could be adapted to Tajikistan’s business environment.
Khayrullo Rizoev, Director of Mevai Tilloi LLC, said: “We discovered practical solutions for improving product quality and branding, and we established contacts that we believe will lead to mutually beneficial cooperation in the near future.”
The study tour formed part of a broader strategy to enhance the value, quality, and visibility of Tajikistan’s agricultural exports, positioning the country as a reliable and competitive supplier in the global dried fruit industry. By drawing on Armenia’s expertise and fostering regional partnerships, Tajik producers are now better prepared to meet international market demands, diversify their product range, and expand their presence in high-value markets.
